New Meridian Arts is a creative community dedicated to publishing innovative literature and poetry that gives voice to original writers of talent and scope around the world.
In the author's own words: 'I began to write “Black Cloud, White Ash” at about 10:30 a.m. on September 11, 2001. I have worked on it periodically, for nearly twenty-five years, mostly small-tweaking and fine-tuning it. I often returned to it in the days leading up to September 11 in the years following the attack on New York City’s World Trade Center, and on the day of the anniversary itself. Despite those years of revising this work, the text has changed little in twenty-five years.'
Michele Madigan Somerville is the author of
