In this sequel to Tim Castano’s Quebec, readers grieve with the narrator’s father following his wife’s death from Alzheimer’s disease, while also traveling back to his earliest days as the son of Italian immigrants during the Great Depression. Alternating, intersecting timelines cross oceans and close decades-long circles, revealing the sacrifices, values and devotion that build meaningful lives. Ultimately, the story explores the weightiest questions: Did I do enough? Did I do enough to make it all worthwhile?
